KATE BOY's New Single 'Self Control' Out Today
After non-stop worldwide touring and festival appearances since the release of their 2013 debut EP Northern Lights, Kate Boy add new dates in the U.S. this fall. The tour includes stops at The Roxy in Los Angeles, a visit to New York City for CMJ, as well as a performance at Glasslands in Brooklyn. See below for full routing.
"Self Control," the latest single from the Stockholm-based trio, recently premiered at Pitchfork (http://bit.ly/1tWmvnh) and will be released on iTunes today, August 19 viaIAMSOUND/Island Records.
The track serves as a preview to their highly anticipated, self-produced debut LP. Kate Boy spoke to SPIN in February and said, "...now we know what we want to do. So you just have to apply that fact of knowing what to do and what sound to create and what direction to go in." Read more here (http://go.spin.com/1eaKBpW). Details on the album's release are coming soon.
Kate Boy is Kate Akhurst, Hampus Nordgren and Markus Dextegen. Originally from Australia, Akhurst moved to Stockholm in 2011 with a vision for her music that she'd been unable to find. A chance encounter united Akhurst with rising Swedish producers Nordgren and Dextegen, and the three immediately realized the music that each of them wanted to make aligned perfectly. Debut single "Northern Lights" was the first song that came of their meeting.KATE BOY TOUR DATES
