"My favorite parts about this song are the bassline, the simplicity and the cockiness," says singer/songwriter and producer GRABBITZ. Today (April 21) the Los Angeles/Buffalo-based artist releases his new single and official music video for "Play This Game" from his upcoming debut full-length album THINGS CHANGE (out May 19 on West Blood Records). "'Play This Game' is about the industry. For a true artist, it seems like no one wants to take risks anymore, and only see monetary value. What is cool? What is not? What's a trend? What is timeless? You have to risk losing in order to win. I have to play."

GRABBITZ worked with visual artist Nikko Lamere who has created content for artists like Khelani, Noah Cyrus and Sky Ferreira for the video which captures the artist bearing his skin as much as his soul for the industry. "You won't be able to get the bass-heavy hooks and seductive beat out of your mind anytime soon," shared Idobi who premiered the video today. "'Play This Game' is a whole new brand of entertainment tailor-made to mess with your head in the best way possible."

With over 20 million Spotify streams on his catalogue overall, GRABBITZ (aka Nick Chiari) combines elements of pop, rock, and hip-hop--all of which are being glued together by a rhythmic, electronic heartbeat. The debut GRABBITZ album Things Change is an alchemic and visceral reaction to the loss of the most important person in his life, a trip into the belly of the beast on his personal hero's journey. He's the sort of artist who's creating all the time, so the temptation to stay in the woods of his native Buffalo in western New York and make music just for himself was great. GRABBITZ-who calls downtown Los Angeles home--made the choice to "Play This Game." You can hear his frustration in the grindy guitar riff and fat bassline that opens the track and his desperation to cling to love of any sort on the hybrid pulsating drumstep ballad "Don't Let Me Go." He finally loosens his grip on reality and surrenders to the certainty of a pop progression on "i think that i might be going crazy" - and those are just the first few songs of his twelve track album. It's a good thing music is therapy for GRABBITZ because he's responsible for every single aspect of his songs, from writing to production to performance. He's probably the only artist to ever be compared to both Trent Reznor and Eminem in the same breath (by Billboard). Meanwhile, GRABBITZ is featured on deadmau5's hit single "Let Go," which has over 10 million Youtube views and reached #11 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Chart. Keep a look out for GRABBITZ this summer as he will be debuting his live show which will highlight his talents as a performer.
