Dyn, the worldwide leader in Internet Infrastructure as a Service, announced that Dawes, John McCauley (lead singer of Deer Tick) and Friends and Delta Spirit will headline their 2013 SXSW Music Meets Tech (MMT) event on Tuesday, March 12 at The Cedar Street Courtyard in Austin, TX.

On the evening when SXSW Interactive comes to a close and the Music festival opens, Dyn returns to Austin for their third year to entertain tech geeks and music elites with a 7-band line-up.

Dyn has always seen the connection between startups and emerging bands, which is why they have combined these two passions in their Music Meets Tech series. All the bands are curated by 1band1 brand, a startup that introduces a new emerging, independent musician and fashion label each week.

"This will be a great night to celebrate the tech industry with clients, partners, prospects and friends," said Kyle York, Dyn Chief Revenue Officer. "Having just one of these bands would ensure that our show would be awesome. Having all three means that this night will be legendary."

Featured in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Billboard Magazine and USA Today, Dawes has been favorably compared to Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young and the Eagles. Their new album, Stories Don't End, comes out in April.

Music fans of all kinds, including Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows, couldn't get enough of Dawes at Dyn's highly regarded 2012 Music Meets Tech event, which also featured 2012 breakout The Lumineers who jumped from SXSW supporting act to performing at the Grammys in 2013.

"A lot of great things have happened to us since Dyn's Music Meets Tech show last year. We toured with Mumford and Sons, played some amazing shows and saw our fanbase grow," said Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes. "But we're excited to return to a more intimate setting in Austin and considering we're performing on the same stage with John McCauley and Delta Spirit, it should be an amazing night. Last year, playing at the Dyn party became one of our favorite SXSW moments we've ever had."

John McCauley, a singer-songwriter from Providence, Rhode Island, will perform the many hits from his band Deer Tick and his other projects. McCauley's music has been described as a combination of folk, blues and country. McCauley counts amongst his legions of fans, Brian Williams, anchor of the NBC Nightly News, and NBA star Matt Bonner.

Delta Spirit is a band that is known for its live performances. Originally from Southern California, Delta Spirit now calls Brooklyn home. Their driving rhythm and congregational songwriting, however, are home on any stage. The band recently performed on Conan O'Brien's show on TBS.

Rounding out the full lineup is a roster of bands that would headline most other parties: Kopecky Family Band, Joe Fletcher And The Wrong Reasons, Quiet Life and Dan Blakeslee.

Kopecky Family Band isn't connected by blood but by their love of music and putting on a great show. The sextet out of Nashville has a strong, cult-like following throughout the country.

Fletcher is a Providence, Rhode Island-based singer/songwriter who recently performed at the legendary Newport Folk Festival. His second album, White Lighter, has been universally praised by critics.

Portland, Oregon-based Quiet Life is no stranger to followers of Dyn, having toured with Dyn in 2012 entertaining audiences at Velocity conferences in the USA and Europe, The Dublin Web Summit and two other European shows.

Like Dyn, Dan Blakeslee is based in New England. His homemade recording, Live at Laconia State Prison, has been compared to Johnny Cash.

In addition to Music Meets Tech, Dyn is powering all DNS (web performance, uptime) and Transactional Email Delivery for SXSW 2013.

"SXSW brings together some of the most influential people in tech and music," said York. "That is exactly what Dyn does with our Music Meets Tech parties. This was a natural partnership."
