Melbourne & Los Angeles-based DOCTRIN, the brainchild of Australian-born singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Dolly Denko announces today's (January 15th) release of the debut EP The Deep.

Co-produced by Dolly and Maxwell Moon (Joanna Newsom, Young The Giant) at Seahorse Sound in downtown L.A. the EP features five songs of infectious dark alternative pop that brings to mind shades of Shirley Manson, Placebo and Metric.

The video for the EP's first single "Give Me Love" premiered exclusively with Yahoo! Music. Helmed by Ms. Denko herself with cinematography by Heath Saunders (Walk The Moon, Katy Perry) its an edgy and darkly humorous video that deals with unrequited love alongside bondage and burlesque.

"I wanted to combine body positive burlesque-inspired visuals with the song's message; that you just can't force love and you'll be OK on your own in the end," said Dolly to Yahoo! "You shouldn't have to beg for love or pull out a bag of tricks. If it's not there, let it go. Find yourself and eat some cake! The video was incredibly fun to shoot, but that's easy for me to say because I'm not the one that was tied to a bed having hot wax poured over me!"

Doctrin found initial success in the Australian market with her first two singles including "Take Me", the video for which -- a throwback/tribute to the film The Craft and the Charmed TV series -- helped her earn VEVO Australia's 'Artist To Watch' status in May. Soon after she followed her "gut instinct" to visit Los Angeles to write and record under the influence of a new locale, resulting in The Deep.

Doctrin will tour in support of the EP through 2016 with a soon-to-be-announced slate of live dates.

Doctrin is the moniker of Australian-born vocalist, musician, songwriter and producer, Dolly Denko. Currently based in Los Angeles, the Melbournite has been quietly simmering and scheming the U.S. release of her EP The Deep.

Described as demanding Dark Pop, Doctrin delivers moody melodies and lustful lyrics drowned in powerful grungy guitar tones that brings to mind shades of Garbage, Placebo and Metric. Dolly redefines the one woman band - 'singer-songwriter' is just too much of an understatement while she single handedly plays a majority of instruments in the studio, as well as writing and producing for Doctrin.

Her first two singles "Take Me" and "Give Me Love" hit the Australian market in the spring, with the video for "Take Me" gaining notice for its occult themes which was a throwback and tribute to the movie The Craft and the TV series Charmed. The singles and video generated such a buzz they helped Doctrin earn VEVO Australia's Artist To Watch in May.

Dolly refers to the singles an "introduction of extremes" and temporarily relocated to L.A. shortly after to begin work on new music with the intent of bridging the sonic gap between those first songs. With co-producer Maxwell Moon in tow, new songs were laid down to comprise The Deep, which is set for release on January 15th 2016.

"Give Me Love" will serve as the first U.S. single from The Deep. The upcoming video for the song promises to show a more revealing side of Dolly as it will feature a lustful and powerfully honest performance of 1950's burlesque -- culture that she has always been passionate about -- and unrequited love with her distinct Pin-Up style, front and center.
