British Artist Jade Bird Premieres Cover of Alanis Morisette's RIGHT THROUGH YOU Today

Emerging British artist Jade Bird recently covered Alanis Morisette's "Right Through You." The live performance video is premiering today via Inspirerwho says, "A fitting tune for the time we currently live in. The rawness of the video is matched perfectly by the rawness in Bird's voice. With just a microphone, and an acoustic guitar, she draws you in and makes you believe the message of empowerment."

Born in Hexham, U.K., Jade's early life was spent mainly in flight as an "army brat." One of life's few constants proved to be the influence of strong working women. At first via her mother and grandmother, who largely raised her, but later the female role models within the musical subcultures Jade become obsessed with: from empowering country heroines like Loretta Lynn to iconic alternative songwriters like Patti Smith-Alanis Morisette's Jagged Little Pill was a similar early touchstone. Jade also recently spoke with Noisey about the influence of these and other women on her music.

Jade's latest single "Lottery" was released last month, via Glassnote Records, to immediate critical acclaim. Entertainment Weekly highlighted the song in their "Must List" while NPR Music included it in their "Heavy Rotation: 10 Songs Public Radio Can't Stop Playing." Watch the official video here as well as the acoustic version here.

Jade will continue to support "Lottery" as well as her 2017 debut EP Something Americanon the road, supporting both Colter Wall and First Aid Kit throughout the spring and summer. She has also confirmed stops at SXSW, Stagecoach Country Music Festival, Bonnaroo, Firefly and Mountain Jam this summer. See below for details.
