Breakout French duo Her's "Blossom Roses" video premieres today on PAPER Magazine-watch here. Of the band, PAPER says, "The duo have risen exponentially in the past two years to become France's go-to answer alt-RnB."
Her will release their upcoming live EP, Her Live Tape #2, on June 30. Her Live Tape #2features 7 songs recorded at the band's sold out show in April at La Gaité Lyrique in Paris. The EP includes several tracks from Her Tape #2, which was released earlier this year. See full tracklisting below.
In support of the release, the band will play select North American dates this summer, including SummerStage in New York tonight and Baby's All Right in Brooklyn on June 22. See full list of tour dates below.
The video for "Blossom Roses" was directed by Liswaya, former Artistic Director for Dior, Louis Vuitton, Cartier and more and was shot in Dinard, France, where the band writes most of their songs.
Of the video, Her says, "This is the first video where we embody our music. The song has the most intimate and poetic lyrics we've ever written. As we face personal issues, this song reminds us how important love is to overcome difficult times. Whether it's about maternal love, carnal love or friendship, we believe love is key."
The band's latest EP, Her Tape #2, is available now-listen here. Her Tape #2 features lead single, "SWIM."
Her is composed of Victor Solf and Simon Carpentier, who are vocalists, songwriters, producers and multi-instrumentalists. Her Tape #2, the follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed tape, Her Tape #1, is a continuation of their exploration of women, love, relationships and feminism. In the six-track tape, the pair examines maternal love between a mother and child and physical love between partners.
Solf and Carpentier, natives of Germany and France, respectively, met while attending high school in France and formed the duo Her a few years later. Her wrote, produced and self-released their debut single, "Quite Like," on SoundCloud in 2015. It attracted an international audience, as listeners were drawn to the mysterious voices behind the track. In 2016, the duo released Her Tape #1, which has garnered over 6 million streams to date. Her quickly became a global success and performed sold out tours and festivals in Europe, the U.K. and the United States. Her's "Five Minutes" is featured in Apple's "Shot on iPhone" campaign-watch here. Further music from Her is set for release this year.
