Beatle's tribute band The Fab 4 is set to open the 2014 free summer concert series, Celebrating 25 Years of Live Music in the Park, at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park on Wednesday, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. The Fab 4 was founded in 1997 and began performing throughout Southern California. This tribute has brought the music of The Beatles to many places including Japan, Malaysia, France, Hong Kong, The United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Mexico and Brazil. Notable performances have included the Hollywood Bowl for the 37th anniversary of the Beatles' concert; and as a headlining act during Liverpool's annual Beatle week in 2004, 2008, and 2011.
Celebrating 25 Years of Live Music in the Park is sponsored by SCFD, NAHF, Bellco Credit Union, Beer By Design, Western Access Controls, Inc and the City of Northglenn. Scheduled to perform are: The Fab 4, June 18; Wendy Woo, June 25; Chris Daniels and the Kings, July 4; Dakota Blonde, July 9; Hazel Miller, July 16; Zeppephilia, July 23; and Dotsero, July 30. Concerts are on Wednesday evenings starting at 6:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors to the D.L. Parsons Theatre across the street at the Northglenn Recreation Center. Concerts moved to the Theatre will start at 7:00 p.m. For more information about the concerts, call (303) 450-8800.
Northglenn's 14th annual Art On Parade unveiling ceremony will be held before the Wendy Woo concert on June 25 at 6 p.m. The park is located at 11801 Community Center Drive; one-half mile south of 120th Avenue and Grant St.
The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) is a 501(c)3 organization that provides funding for quality youth theatre, public art, and other cultural endeavors in our community. NAHF was founded in 1990.
