Bastian Baker Releases STAY Acoustic Video On Billboard Today

Swiss singer/songwriter Bastian Baker released the acoustic video for "Stay" exclusively on Billboard today. The lead single from his self-titled fourth studio/US debut album recently crossed 1.4 million streams on Spotify. Filmed in Switzerland, Baker's "memorable falsetto and catchy lyrics" (Billboard) are on full display in his "strikingly intimate, bare-bones style" (Guitar World) as he strums his Gibson Hummingbird in front of neon lights.

Baker shared with Billboard, "Performing acoustic is really enjoyable for me. I love performing with my full band, but I just spent the last year traveling the globe on the Shania tour just me and my guitar and it was fun being a one-man band each night. I never wrote up a set list. I could get the vibe of the audience each night in each city and try my best at being their own personal DJ."

After spending 2018 on Shania Twain's Now world tour and performing his first headlining shows in New York City and Nashville, the "Swiss troubadour" (Boston Globe) will kick off his PREGAME Tour through Europe this Friday. He undoubtedly "turned heads" (Sounds Like Nashville) in the U.S. last year, introducing himself to an audience of over 1.1 million, walking his first red carpet and being the first Swiss to do so at the 2018 CMA Awards, and earning a place on "Artist To Watch" lists from Rolling Stone, Sounds Like Nashville, AOL, Taste of Country and Nashville Music Guide.

Influenced by the 900 shows he's played in over 45 countries in the last seven years, Bastian's latest album has been dubbed "a collection of 14 new songs that take the folk pop foundations of his first three albums into new sonic spaces." (Rolling Stone) The genre-defying project was brought to life by producers and songwriters around the globe including GRAMMY Award-winner Jacquire King (Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, Kings of Leon, Bon Jovi). The album showcases Bastian's "down-to-Earth storytelling that Johnny Cash would smile and nod at" (Popdust) with writing credits on all 14 tracks.

Forbes recently reported "the Swiss are regarded as some of the most genial people on the planet," and Bastian's Swiss upbringing and peaceful demeanor are very evident throughout his music and have been embraced in Nashville, where he's currently in the studio working on new music.

ABOUT BASTIAN BAKER:

Sounds Like Nashville hails "Switzerland may be neutral but one of their most talented exports is about to invade America." Platinum-selling Swiss singer/songwriter Bastian Baker shared his chart-topping albums to sold out arenas around the world with the likes of The Black Keys, Bryan Adams, Boy George, Shania Twain and more. The only thing missing from the Swiss' impressive career dance card was the United States... until now. Before pursuing music, Baker was a third-generation professional hockey player. After trading in his hockey stick for a guitar, Baker performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival after an invite from its founder, Claude Nobs ("Funky Claude" if you're Deep Purple), "Bastian Baker wears many hats" (Harper's Bazaar) - he's been featured as a competitor on Dancing With The Stars (France), a guest coach on The Voice (Belgium) and represents esteemed brands Hugo Boss, Omega, Audi and Harley Davidson as a Brand Ambassador. Praised for being "born for the arena," (Popdust) Bastian has been named "one to watch" by Rolling Stone, Young Hollywood, Sounds Like Nashville, AOL and Taste of Country. His fourth studio album and American debut, Bastian Baker released in October 2018. With his talent, undeniable charm and captivating charisma, there's no doubt that it's "only the beginning of the singer's U.S. story." (Sounds Like Nashville)
