Review: A Great Big World Makes Television Debut Performance of 'You' on LIVE WITH KELLY AND RYAN

Pop duo, A Great Big World known for their Grammy-winning hit "Say Something" with Christina Aguilera made their television debut performance of their most recent single "You" on "Live with Kelly & Ryan" on Dec. 5.

I was lucky enough to be in the audience for this and it was a totally different experience from watching it on TV.

It was a learning experience to see the behind-the-scenes work that goes into filming a morning show. The whole thing happened so quickly.

Ian Axel and Chad King were accompanied by live band members Oscar 'Albis' Rodriguez on guitar and Chris Kuffner who usually plays bass but this time was on the cello. They were also backed by an orchestra.

Behind the band, the official music video for "You" played on the background which was a montage of Axel's family (wife Lina Axel, son Bowie, and family dog Callie). The music video basically shows Axel's life from when he met King, dating his now-wife, before the birth of their son, and life now with Bowie.

The performance was absolutely beautiful and it gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes. With lyrics like "I've never seen the flowers or a sky so blue, it's all brand new/Like the sun into the horizon coming into view/ I spent my whole life running, then one day all the sudden there was you," how can you not? Hearing the song with the full accompaniment as it is in the studio version is something not many will get to experience. I'm beyond grateful I got to hear it in its full form.

This group truly doesn't get enough credit. Their music is a breath of fresh air away from what currently plays on the radio every day. With their touching lyrics and humble personalities as humans, I really do hope they catch on to more listeners and that people realize that they're more than "Say Something".

Guests Amber Heard and J.K. Simmons also appeared on the show to promote their upcoming projects.

Follow them on Instagram and Twitter @AGreatBigWorld, @itsmechadking, @ianaxel as well as their Facebook page to keep up with their upcoming projects and tour dates.

"You" follows the lead single "Younger" from their forthcoming self-titled third album set to drop next year under Epic Records.
