dick clark productions and entertainment social network musical.ly today announced their partnership for the 2017 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS, including a fan-voted honor celebrating five of musical.ly's top covered artists of the year: The Chainsmokers, Noah Cyrus, DJ Khaled, Julia Michaels, and Hailee Steinfeld. Voting is now open for the BBMAs Top Covered Artist presented by musical.ly.

Fans can cast votes for their favorite artists by posting a video to the nominee songs in the BBMAs musical.ly folder between now and the close of voting. Votes will be tallied and the winner will be the artist that receives the most covers of the eligible song during the voting period. The winner will be announced during "T-Mobile Magenta Carpet Live at the BBMAs," which will stream live via Twitter on Sunday, May 21 at 6:00pm ET / 3:00pm PT.

Fans can now vote for their favorite artists via the musical.ly platform by covering any of the below songs. Voting ends Saturday, May 20 at 3PM PT.

  • Noah Cyrus - "Make Me (Cry)"
  • DJ Khaled - "Shining" ft. Beyonce and Jay-Z
  • Julia Michaels - "Issues"
  • Hailee Steinfeld - "Most Girls"

musical.ly will also have an on-site presence at the "2017 Billboard Music Awards." On the carpet, attending talent can create musical.ly videos with top platform influencers, including dancer, singer and actress JoJo Siwa, and singer Carson Lueders.

The "2017 Billboard Music Awards" will broadcast LIVE from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 21 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on ABC. This year's award ceremony will showcase big performances, unexpected collaborations and much-discussed pop culture moments.

The nominations for the "2017 Billboard Music Awards" were previously announced, revealing that Drake and The Chainsmokers lead the pack with 22 nominations each, tying the all-time record for most nominations in a single year. Twenty One Pilots received the third most nominations, at 17, and Rihanna received the fourth most nominations, 14. Returning winners from 2016, who also received nominations this year, include Adele, Justin Bieber, Luke Bryan, Lauren Daigle, Drake, Kirk Franklin, Enrique Iglesias, Nicky Jam, Wiz Khalifa, Major Lazer, Rihanna, Chris Stapleton, The Weeknd, Twenty One Pilots and more.

Billboard Music Awards nominees are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital songs sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and social engagement. These measurements are tracked year-round by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. The awards are based on the reporting period of March 18, 2016 through March 16, 2017. Since 1940, the Billboard charts have been the go-to guide for ranking the popularity of songs and albums, and are the ultimate measure of success in music.

ABC's three-hour telecast of the "2016 Billboard Music Awards" drew an average audience of 9.8 million viewers and a 3.2/10 in Adults 18-49 to rank as Sunday's No. 1 broadcast program. In addition, the awards show was Sunday's most social program with 1.8 million tweets.
