BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED, OUT OF THE BLUE CDs to be Released 9/27, 10/18

Stage Door Records will release two new cast recordings this fall, BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED and OUT OF THE BLUE.

BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED, which will be released on September 27, is a musical based on the extraordinary lives of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald. He's a successful young author and she's the stylish young wife. Outrageously glamorous and fashionable, they created their own world of enchantment and became the envy of all with their high-spending and high-living lifestyle.

Scott christened the period The Jazz Age, and Zelda lived it. But behind the glittering façade lay a tragedy of epic proportions.

The original songs on this unique disc, written and performed by Les Reed and Roger Cook, secured multi-million pound funding for BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED, a full-blown, glittering Art Deco musical extravaganza.

Initially starring John Barrowman at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED transferred to The Lyric, where it starred Michael Praed and Helen Anker. As bonus tracks, the album concludes with three exclusive recordings from the London cast featuring Michael Praed and Helen Anker, recorded live at the Lyric Theatre.

OUT OF THE BLUE, which will be released on October 18, is a  musical drama written by leading Japanese composer Shunn-Ichi Tokura and English lyricist / poet Paul Sand. Set against the dramatic backdrop of post-war Japan, the musical centres on John Marshall and his Japanese wife Hideko and the aftermath of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki in August 1945.

The musical starred an array of the West End's finest leading performers including Meredith Braun, Greg Ellis, James Graeme, Michael McCarthy and Simon Burke.

OUT OF THE BLUE opened at London's Shaftesbury Theatre in November 1994; however, the cast recording has remained commercially unavailable until now.
