Aquadrop Releases Crossover Track 'Watch Me DVB' On New Noise

Milan's own Aquadrop arrives on New Noise with "Watch Me DVB," an infectious crossover tune lush with warm vocal chops and gooey future bass synths.

Aquadrop put it best when he described his genre-bending sound as, "a mad chef in a kitchen with loads of ingredients, tryin' to put 'em together and make that delicious and unknown recipe." In summer 2012, his experimental trap tune "Back and Forth" on Starkey's street bass label Seclusiasis appeared in an official GoPro video that went viral, racking up over 7.5M views on YouTube. The following year, RL Grime released his edit of Aquadrop's song "Favelas." The track exploded, dominating the festival trap scene and garnering support from some of the biggest names in bass music, including Skrillex, Flosstradamus, Baauer, Bro Safari, Jauz, and many more. He kept his foot on the gas pedal in 2014, dropping the #5 Beatport Reggae / Dub tune "Gyal Like Me (feat. Stush)" with Big Fish before linking up with the Platinum award-winning producer again for "Don't You Say You Love Me" on Mad Decent. The collaboration proved to be a hit, as label head Diplo subsequently commissioned Aquadrop for an eclectic guest mix on his "Diplo and Friends" radio show on BBC Radio 1XTRA. With "Watch Me DVB," Aquadrop impressively reinforces his ability to produce across the genre spectrum while also appealing to a pop audience.

New Noise is Dim Mak's new music discovery imprint that focuses on cutting edge sounds from burgeoning artists across the genre spectrum. Launched in 2010, New Noise got its start as a compilation series highlighting fresh faces handpicked by Steve Aoki and crew.
