'American Idol' Top Ten Launches Tour Today, 7/1; Runs Thru 9/16
The 'American Idol Live!' tour begins today in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the official 'American Idol' website announces. The tour will feature Season Nine winner Lee Dewyze, as well as fellow Top Ten members Aaron Kelly, Andrew Garcia, Didi Benami, Katie Stevens, Michael Lynche, Tim Urban, Siobhan Magnus, Casey James, and Crystal Bowersox.
The tour will run through September 16 with a stop in Portland, Maine and will stop along the way in cities including Philadelphia, Albany, Washington, Baltimore, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Toronto. 'American Idol' is a highly popular Fox reality show in which solo singers compete to be declared the new American Idol. In addition to DeWyze, past winners include Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, and Kris Allen. The show is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and features Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and Ellen Degeneres as judges; a new judge will soon be chosen to replace the departing Simon Cowell.
