Hennepin Arts has announced that AMERICA will bring The Happy Trails Tour 2026 to the State Theatre on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 7 p.m. The performance continues the group’s national touring schedule, following this year’s 55th anniversary concerts. Tickets will be available beginning Friday, November 21 at 10 a.m. online at HennepinArts.org and at the State Theatre Box Office at noon.

The tour is led by original member Dewey Bunnell, with Gerry Beckley’s retirement from touring taking effect in early 2024. AMERICA will perform selections from its catalog, including the Billboard Hot 100 Number One single “A Horse With No Name” and other well-known tracks from across its five-decade career. Beckley and Bunnell were recently named nominees for the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 2026 performing songwriter category.

Recent releases connected to AMERICA include the 8-disc box set Half Century, the live album America—Live From The Hollywood Bowl 1975, and the 50th anniversary expanded edition of the album Hearts. The band is also the subject of I Need You: 53 Years of the Band America, a new documentary currently touring film festivals after winning the Audience Award for Best Music Film at the Newport Beach Film Festival. Beckley remains an active member of the band’s recording projects while Bunnell continues to lead touring performances.

Founded in 1970, AMERICA achieved early recognition with the success of “A Horse With No Name” in 1972. Their credits include a catalog of Top 40 and FM radio staples such as “Ventura Highway,” “I Need You,” “Don’t Cross the River,” “Tin Man,” “Sister Golden Hair,” and “Lonely People,” along with multiple gold and platinum albums. The group earned the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1972 and went on to collaborate with producer George Martin and engineer Geoff Emerick across seven albums.
