Alternative pop singer/songwriter JANELLE KROLL releases her debut EP, Outsider, today (9/30) via NYC indie label Lokal Legend. The 5-song collection features the lead single "FVR," produced by Grammy award-winning songwriter/producer Brian Kierulf, "24 hrs," co-written and co-produced by Penguin Prison and Andy Seltzer, and "Looose" featuring morgxn.

Outsider is available now to stream and purchase on all digital platforms.
Striking a delicate balance between pop brightness and electronic R&B dusk,Outsider is further proof of the NYC-based singer/songwriter's irrefutable gift to capture a spectrum of emotions: powerful and delicate, confident and vulnerable, beautiful and sexy, raw and sultry, earthly and ethereal. Everything springs from a singular style that veers left from indie music's typical posturing. JANELLE coyly dubs her sound "dependent music" adding, "I sing about emotional dependencies."
Earlier this week, Billboard exclusively shared Outsider in its entirety and raved, "Her sultry, vulnerable vocals will immediately strike a chord with any Banks fan. Playful production balances and brightens the mood as Kroll explores the innermost workings of emotional struggle. The EP opens strong with a catchy, twisted tropical hook on 'FVR,' and '24 hrs' keeps the vibe moving strong with'80s yacht rock-esque synth melodies. Title track 'Outsider' turns the mood slow and sexy under Kroll's powerful voice. 'Balcony Song' is a definite favoritewith playful arpeggios and echoing drums before she evokes the spirit of Prince's softer moments on closer "Looose" featuring morgxn. All in all, it's a really strong EP. All killer no filler in this lady's arsenal."
The EP's lead single "FVR" was first introduced on Harper's Bazaar and was immediately added to several official Spotify playlists, including the coveted New Music Friday playlist. "24 hrs" first premiered on Earmilk, and has been praised by Billboard and PopCrush, among others (see below), and additionally receivedmajor support from Spotify, including another add on the New Music Fridayplaylist and coinciding Twitter shout out.
Even before an official release of her own, JANELLE built an impressive resume, lending her inimitable vocal talents to several dance tracks such as Dennis Ferrer's "Mind Ur Step," Autograf's "Metaphysical," and Moon Boots' "Utopia"and in 2014, JANELLE went on tour with Big Data as lead vocalist.
With the February 2015 release of "Sunny Days," JANELLE formally introduced her soulful pop, bright harmonies and nocturnal R&B sound to the world. "Sunny Days" first debuted on Bullett Media and was widely praised on several highly regarded sites. Additionally, Spotify chose the track for its New Music Playlist and it went Top 10 on both the hub's U.S. Viral Chart and Global Viral Chart. Amidst the flurry of the release, JANELLE was invited to play Lollapalooza 2015. The track served as a fitting gateway into her sultry and sensual delivery and towering dynamics. "Sunny Days" has over 1.2 million spins on Spotify.
