This month, the Morris Museum is pleased to present a host of entertaining special performances in the Bickford Theatre. The line-up includes Grover Kemble's "Durante Returns" on October 9; "Dueling Pianos: The Magic of Four Hands, Two Voices" on October 16; a performance by The Garcia Project on October 21; Karen Knotts in "Tied up in Knotts" on October 23; and a classical music concert by the Azure Ensemble on October 30. The month will also feature two jazz performances: Paris Washboard on October 10 and the Frank Vignola Trio on October 24.

Durante Returns
Sunday, October 9, 2:00pm

Grover Kemble's rollicking, nostalgic jaunt through the life of American singer, actor, comedian, and ever popular entertainer Jimmy Durante returns to the Bickford stage.

Jazz Showcase: Paris Washboard

Rare US appearance of this internationally recognized jazz band from France devoted to Dixieland swing.

Dueling Pianos: Four Hands, Two Voices

Brian Gurl has garnered rave reviews from critics nationwide for his stunningly powerful and deeply creative musical and piano arrangements. Katherine Alexandra is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and a winner of several international piano competitions. Together Brian and Katherine will delight you with their eclectic and stunningly diverse repertoire from Ragtime to Rachmaninoff, Gypsy Folk Songs to Jazz and George Gershwin to Billy Joel.

The Garcia Project

The Garcia Project performs full, classic Jerry Garcia Band shows from the 70's, 80's and 90's - creating the Jerry Garcia Band experience for old fans to relive or new fans to enjoy for the first time. It's about family, soul searching, rejoicing, contemplating, celebrating, seeking truth and loving one another. Wine and beer available.

Tied up in Knotts

Actress/comedienne, Karen Knotts, reminisces about growing up the daughter of Emmy Award-winning television star Don Knotts, in this witty and reverent piece of entertainment.

Frank Vignola Trio with Jon-Eric Kellso
Monday, October 24, 8:00PM

Frank Vignola, one of the most extraordinary guitarists performing today, is joined by trumpeter extraordinaire, Jon-Erik Kellso, for an evening of hot jazz.

Azure Ensemble
Sunday, October 30, 2:00PM

The Azure Ensemble presents a program for flute, viola, and harp, influenced by the French Impressionist period. These works are remarkable for their varied palette of color and mood, creating atmospheres of beauty and wonder. Halloween fans can hear a spooky piece based on Edgar Allan Poe's "The Telltale Heart."

The Bickford Theatre is an integral part of the Morris Museum, located at 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown, NJ, and offers free parking and full accessibility. Box Office hours for phone sales are Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 5:00pm. Walk-up hours are Tuesday through Friday,11:00am to 5:00pm.

About The Bickford Theatre


The Bickford Theatre is a professional theater that produces and presents year-round entertainment, including a Main Stage Series, two Children's Theatre series, a Jazz Showcase, and Blues at the Bickford. The theatre is a Senior Member of the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, a not-for-profit organization of 30 professional theaters throughout the state, and works in conjunction with Actors' Equity Association (AEA) and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC). From its beginnings in 1994 to the present, tens of thousands of theater-goers from across the tri-state area have enjoyed the Bickford Theatre's many entertaining and diversified offerings in theatre, music and dance.

About the Morris Museum

Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum is an award-winning, community-based arts and cultural institution which serves the public through high caliber exhibitions in the arts, sciences and humanities. The Museum also offers educational programs, family events, and is home to the Bickford Theatre and its wide range of performing arts offerings. Continuously serving the public since 1913, the Morris Museum has been designated a Major Arts Institution and has received the New Jersey State Council on the Arts' Citation of Excellence, among other awards. The first museum in New Jersey to be accredited, the Morris Museum was re-accredited in 2013 by the American Alliance of Museums.

The Morris Museum is a Blue Star Museum, offering free admission to active duty military personnel and their families, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The Museum is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road (at the corner of Columbia Turnpike) in Morristown, NJ, and is open Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, 12:00 to 5:00pm. In addition, the Museum is open evenings from5:00 to 8:00pm on the second and third Thursday of the month. Admission to the Museum is $10 for adults and $7 for children, students and senior citizens.
