BWW Previews: VIS A VIS Restaurant and Lounge Opens in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn

Vis à Vis, a modern, upscale restaurant and lounge offering Global Contemporary Cuisine rooted in French techniques, opened November 1st, bringing contemporary fine dining to the bustling Brighton Beach neighborhood in Brooklyn.

Reflecting the changes in the area, Vis à Vis provides innovative, contemporary dining, filling a fine-dining void with a convivial eatery where patrons can enjoy impeccable cuisine, delicious drinks and a lively atmosphere.

Combining neighborhood hospitality in an elegant atmosphere, Vis à Vis sets the new standard for high-energy dining, where patrons can enjoy a luxurious meal and stay after hours to enjoy the lounge, which offers specialty cocktails, beers on tap, an extensive wine list and a line-up of world-famous DJ's.

At the helm of the sleek eatery is Chef Charles, a multi award-winning chef and culinary artist hailing from the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. Chef Charles won first place in the Brooklyn Curry Experiment competition, as well as the 2012 National Food Experiment, which was sponsored by the Brooklyn Brewery.

Chef Charles' menu includes innovative culinary delights including: Bone Marrow Poppers in Pastry Shell & Bordelaise; Zucchini Blossoms stuffed with Mozzarella, Figs and Mint; Miso Glazed Salmon with Galangal and Kaffiir Lime Coconut Curry Sauce and Ginger Garlic Fried Rice; Short Rib Terrine with Baby Kale, Golden Apples, Truffle Oil and Roasted Turnip Puree; and Chili Citrus Seared Jumbo Scallops and Butter Poached Lobster, Sweet Pea Flan, Pea Shoots, Basil Oil and Vegetable Tempura.

"This place is unlike any in Brooklyn," says Chef Charles. "We created a luxurious neighborhood restaurant with a great lounge area, a fine-dining room, and craveable food and cocktails. We're bringing a piece of Manhattan to this area and are excited for people from all over the city to visit Vis à Vis."
