'Lincoln Center Theater's production of the Richard Brinsley Sheridan classic  comedy, THE RIVALS, directed by Mark Lamos, will open on Thursday, December 16, at 7:30 PM at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. 

THE RIVALS is Sheridan's rollicking comedy of manners and mistaken identities where anyone will go to the greatest of lengths to conquer true love.

The cast of 20 is headed by Emily Bergl (Lydia Languish), Richard Easton (Sir Anthony Absolute), Dana Ivey (Mrs. Malaprop), Matt Letscher (Captain Jack Absolute), Brian Murray (Sir Lucius O'Trigger), Carrie Preston (Julia), and Jim True-Frost (Faulkland).  Also in the cast are Barbara Caruso, Herb Foster, David Furr, Malcolm Ingram, David Manis, Keira Naughton, Laura Odeh, Jeremy Shamos, Jim Stanek, James Urbaniak, P.J. Verhoest, David Christopher Wells, and Sarah Zimmerman.

THE RIVALS has sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Jess Goldstein, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski, original music by Robert Waldman, sound by Scott Stauffer and choreography by Seán Curran.

The performance schedule for THE RIVALS is Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, with matinees Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 3pm.  Tickets, priced at $55 to $85, are available at the Lincoln Center Theater Box Office (150 West 65 Street) or by calling TELE-CHARGE at (212) 239-6200.
