Jon Cryer, Nicholas Stoller & More Set for Just For Laughs and ComedyPRO Film Lineup, 7/9-28

The 32nd edition of the Just For Laughs Festival, presented by Videotron in association with Loto-Québec, presents three exceptional film events and the return of the 17th edition of the best comedic shorts from around the world, all part of this year's Just For Laughs Festival, which takes place July 9 - 28, 2014 in Montreal.

Award-winning actor Jon Cryer from the hit CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men will be in attendance for the world premiere of Hit by Lightning. The indie rom-com, written and directed by Montreal-born Ricky Blitt (Family Guy, The Ringer) will screen Wednesday, July 23, 7 pm, at Cinéma Excentris.

Filmmaker Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek) is this year's 'In Conversation' subject. His latest film, Neighbors, starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, laughed its way to a $51.1 million US debut over Mother's Day weekend, and has grossed over $220 million worldwide thus far. In Conversation with Nicholas Stoller takes place at ComedyPRO on Thursday, July 24, 3 pm, at the Hyatt Regency Montreal. It is presented by the Telefilm Canada Feature Comedy Exchange, a CFC initiative in collaboration with Just For Laughs.

Eat Drink Laugh: The World Famous Comic Strip has its world premiere Friday, July 25, 7 pm, at Cinema du Parc. This feature documentary explores the 35-year history of The Comic Strip, New York's first stage for the world's biggest comics. With names like Seinfeld, Murphy, Rock and Sandler having honed their craft on the Comic Strip's stage, this rich documentary is the first ever to explore the birth of the modern comedy club.

Lastly, Eat My Shorts! (English) and Tout Court (French) presented by The Harold Greenberg Fund returns for a 17th edition. Come discover the next generation of filmmakers as we screen 90 minutes of absurd and playful cinematic entertainment on Thursday, July 24, 7 pm and 9 pm, at Cinema du Parc.
