Palisades Virtuosi to Present Spring Concert, CD Launch Party in Paramus
In addition to performing short selections from each of the pieces on the May 1-released New American Masters, Volume 6 CD (Albany Records, Troy 1669) by Adrienne Albert, Matthew Baier, Gary William Friedman, Linda Marcel, Ting Ho, Jeff Scott and Gary Schocker, the Virtuosi will present works by Danzi, Dring and Puccini and a special surprise premiere of a new work for flute, clarinet & piano.
This CD is part of the ensemble's "Mission to Commission", and celebrates the more than 75 works previously created for them since 2003.
Tickets are $20 general and $15 students and seniors in advance, and $25 general and $20 for students and seniors at the door. The performance will be followed by a champagne toast and reception along with a CD signing by the artists. The Palisades Virtuosi, consisting of flutist Margaret Swinchoski, clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy, is a 501 (c)(3) organization established to promote and enrich the repertoire for flute, clarinet and piano and present concerts that include existing and newly-commissioned repertoire for this configuration (each of their concerts includes a work commissioned by the ensemble), supplemented by solos, duos and larger works featuring guest artists.
