Happy 107th Birthday, New Mexico!

Madam Millie Press, an independent literary arts initiative based in Albuquerque, N.M., announces the opening of the platform to literary submissions, today.

The launch of this New Mexico literary project is in conjunction with the 107th year anniversary of New Mexico’s admission into the Union, making it the 47th state.

“New Mexico has stories to tell. In every corner of this state dwell the most colorful people in the United States,” said Anthony Albidrez, editor-in-chief of MMP. “Providing a free, credible, and accessible place for New Mexicans to share their work inspired this online literary project.”

Madam Millie Press is accepting submissions of non-fiction, fiction, poetry, essays, criticism, articles, interviews, and visual art. Works must have a New Mexico theme.

Works written by New Mexico writers who reside in the state are preferred, but all submissions will be taken into consideration.

Complete submission guidelines can be accessed at https://madammilliepress.com/submission-guidelines/.

Submissions are accepted today through July 6, 2019.

Selected works will be chosen throughout the submission period and finalists will be announced on August 6, 2019 for publication.

Final selected works will be published in a digital anthology under a title that will be announced later in the year.
