NEW YORK, Oct. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ Authors come in all ages and stages of life, but something is certainly endearing about the young ones. The ones who hit it out of the park on the first try. The ones like Andrew William Felsher and his recent success in publishing his first novelA Rusty Storytwo days after he turned 24 in May of 2015.Fresh out of college, Felsher was extremely disciplined and passionate when it came to his writing. He ultimately hand-wrote the first draft ofA Rusty Storyin a few weeks in September 2014, largely inspired by the fact that many of the writers he idolized wrote their first novel in their twenties. Here are some of the top well-known authors who wrote successful books while under the age of 30:

1. Charles Dickens Dickens was only 25 when he pennedThe Pickwick Papersin 1836. Although deception was involved in the initial publication of this work, as Dickens was originally hired to complement an illustrator's work, it didn't take too long for Dickens to become a celebrity. He would later pen masterpieces likeThe Adventures of Oliver Twist,A Christmas Carrol, andDavid Copperfield, which are still studied by scholars and read by the masses today.

2. Sylvia Plath Plath began writing at the age of 8 and completed several short stories by the time she reached adulthood. After attending Smith College, where she excelled, Plath suffered from depression, just as the protagonist did in her semi-autobiographical debut novel,The Bell Jar. Written when Plath was 29,The Bell Jaris still widely read today, and Plath even won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry posthumously in 1982.

3. Ken Kasey Kasey wroteOne Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nestat the ripe age of 27, after finding motivation in one of the most unlikely places. While working at a Veteran's hospital in San Francisco, Kasey began to think that the patients were not actually mentally ill but ill-fitting for society. The novel was later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film starring Jack Nicholson.

4. Jack London In 1903 at age 27, London wroteThe Call of the Wild, and found his inspiration for such during the Klondike Gold Rush. Suffering from scurvy, losing four teeth, and carrying permanent marks on his face, London wrote a superb novel and a total of 40 more.

These four examples of successful writers who began before the age of 30 places a lot of pressure on young authors. There is no doubt that Andrew William Felsher should live up to the challenge, and that readers should expect more of the same from this up-and-coming writer.

Andrew William Felsherhas a knack for creating witty, thought-provoking dialogue, and his unique characters force the reader to continue turning the page. His secondary characters, and his unlikeable characters are brilliantly crafted. Which character is your favorite?
