The search is over and Second Generation Theatre has found the perfect home! Second Generation Theatre proudly announces their residence at Shea's Smith Theatre for the 2018-2019 season and beyond. Located in the heart of the Buffalo Theatre District, the theatre offers flexible seating of up to 200 patrons and a blank slate for the company's signature style of performance.

"The beauty of this space is it brings us back to our original strength- creating an entirely different environment for each production that places the audience in the heart of the action," said Artistic Director Kelly Copps. "The move allows us to take our focus off of real estate and place it back where it belongs: on creating quality productions for our audiences."

"We are thrilled to be associated with Shea's Performing Arts Center and to bring our audience to the versatile Shea's Smith Theatre space," said SGT Executive Director, Kristin Bentley. "After a nomadic five years, we couldn't be happier to plant roots in the bustling theatre district and partner with Shea's under the exciting vision of Michael Murphy."

"At Shea's we strive to build support for and collaborate with our fellow theatres and are particularly proud that we can leverage our dynamic spaces for creative live theatre experiences for Western New York audiences. I'm pleased and excited to welcome Second Generation Theatre to their new home, Shea's Smith Theatre," said Michael G. Murphy, President of Shea's Performing Arts Center.

Second Generation Theatre will continue to offer theatre, dance, and music classes for students ages 2-17 at Kenmore Presbyterian Church for the 2018-2019 season.

The company will be announcing their season along with the rest of the Shea's family in March 2018, but their first musical in the new space will take place in October 2018.
