With a long and distinguished career as a guitarist, composer, arranger, musical director, and author, Stan Ayeroff has worked alongside some of the biggest names in rock and pop, including Rod Stewart, Page and Plant, Heart, and Roger Daltrey of The Who. He served as co-music director — alongside acclaimed film composer Danny Elfman — of the original Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, the legendary L.A. surrealistic musical theater group. A respected authority on jazz guitar, Ayeroff is the author of 13 music books, including acclaimed volumes on Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, and Benny Goodman, as well as several popular collections of fingerstyle arrangements for solo guitar — the most recent published by Mel Bay Publications. His Django Reinhardt transcriptions are widely regarded as among the finest analyses of the master's playing ever written.
