BEING BETTER NEIGHBORS: A COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE at The Makers' Ensemble

Close out First Kiss Theater Company's series of Residency Presentations with Being Better Neighbors: A Community Open House, presented by Abby Davis, with coordination by Max Raymond. More than ever, we’re thinking about ways that we can better show up for and take care of one another—friends and strangers alike.

Mix and mingle over coffee and sweet treats and meet new friends based in your neighborhood while participating in the following activities:

ASSEMBLE CARE KITS

With winter temperatures already setting in, having essential care items on hand can greatly help folks in our community experiencing homelessness. Assemble care kits to keep in your coat pocket or tote to give to someone in need.

DONATE ITEMS TO HOUSING WORKS

Have a donation pile that you’ve been meaning to drop off? We’ll do it for you! Bring your gently used clothing, accessories, jewelry, shoes, housewares, and books along with you, and we’ll take them to Housing Works. All donations help the nonprofit to continue their wide-reaching advocacy in New York City and beyond. Curious if an item is eligible before bringing it on the train? DM us to confirm !

CONTRIBUTE TO A COMMUNITY ZINE

Pop a squat at the art cafe and muse on what community means to you. Paint, pencils, markers, and collage supplies will be supplied, but personal materials welcome!

NARCAN TRAINING (kicks off at 2:00PM)

Pick up free harm reduction supplies and participate in a group naloxone training lead by Housing Works from 2-3PM.

Make your rounds at each station or just come hang out — our doors are open for you.
