First Gathering officially opens the Clancestry program, honouring the ancestral history of the land, paying tribute to its spirits, and commemorating its enduring legacy. Community groups come together on the Festival Grounds to celebrate traditions and welcome young ones to continue the legacy handed down from elders. The event is hosted by TV presenter and writer Tony Armstrong in the South Bank setting.
