The award-winning Ballet Folclorico da Bahia arrives in Sao Paulo with its Sacred Heritage show, after being applauded in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the Caribbean.
They conquered the public and critics in the four corners of the world. Now it is the turn of paulistas know. Balé Folclórico da Bahia arrives in Sao Paulo with the show "Sacred Heritage – the Court of Obatala. Inspired in rituals of Candomblé, the show, which combines color, movement and sound, ravishing, reveres the Orixás and shows the strength and beauty of the Afro-Brazilian rituals. In the u.s., more than 100 thousand people, including celebrities such as Gloria Estefan, Steven Spielberg, Danny Glover, David Parsons, Anne Hathaway, Harry Belafonte and Jessye Norman, cheered the sacred Heritage. On August 28 the company's dancers participated in the closure of the London Olympics.
Balé Folclórico da Bahia (BFB), only professional folk dance company in the country, presents his show "Sacred Heritage – the Court of Oxalá", from November 30 to December 2 and from 7 to 9 December, at the Teatro Sergio Cardoso. The season in Sao Paulo closed the National Ballet tour, which started in January in Salvador, with sponsorship from Hi and cultural support of the Oi Futuro. The tour, which has already passed through Rio de Janeiro, is a milestone in the 24 year history of the group, which has an intense agenda abroad and international prestige, but faced difficulty to Brazil. It is the first time that the company, selected by the Oi program cultural sponsorship, sponsorship of a Brazilian company to undertake a national tour. "Already we present the ballet to the world, we want to spread our work in Brazil", says Walson Botelho, founder and General Director of the ballet, better known as Joseph Barker.
After being applauded in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the Caribbean, the show "Sacred Heritage – the Court of Oxalá" restored to the stage in Brazil with 26 dancers, musicians and singers, with vibrant movements and sweeping sound. Inspired in rituals of Candomblé, the show circulated recently by 30 American cities, in a season of three months, and was seen by more than 100 thousand people.
