Three best friends are off on their yearly hunting trip deep in the woods of Illinois. Seemingly, they know each other very well, but discover they don't know each other at all. The characters include a pro-Bush, pro-war politician, and a loving dog, Lady, who just wants to be a good girl. One of them won't survive the day.

Lady explores how these long-term friends have grown apart because of their views of politics and war. Is America the one to forcibly spread democracy around the world? Is killing justified? Is an eighteen year old ready and able to make a life-changing decision about enlisting? We get to know what these three men are about as they reveal themselves to each other - which prove to be a revelation to themselves, as well.

Playwright Craig Wright was nominated for both a 2009 Drama League Award & Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play for Lady. He was a Pulitzer Prize nominee for his playThe Pavilion. Mr. Wright also writes for TV, and is the creator and executive producer for ABC's Dirty Sexy Money. He received a writing Emmy nomination for Six Feet Under.

In their review of the play, The New York Times observed, "The tremendously moving Lady, about three childhood friends on a hunting trip, says much about the nature of change and distance and truth." Variety noted that Lady is a, "frontal attack on edgy material about alienated people pushed to the point of violence."

Perfect material supporting Zeitgeist Stage's artistic mission, the company presents the New England Premiere of Craig Wright's Lady featuring actors Brett Marks, Craig Houk and Michael Steven Costello, directed by Zeitgeist Stage Artistic Director David J. Miller.
