By: BWW News Desk Jul. 11, 2013
Vagabond Theatre Group presents Supergravity and the Eleventh Dimension, by Boston Playwright Heather Houston. This new play opens tonight, July 11, 2013 at the Factory Theatre (791 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02118) and runs until July 20, 2013.
If energy cannot be created or destroyed, what happens to our energy after we die? Where are those that are no longer with us? One year after Carmen (Rachel Katherine Alexander) tumbles from a cliff, her friends, Tom (Kevin Pacquet), Leslie (Alyssa Pernhagen), Dan (Devon Scalisi) and Fred (Noah Tobin), return to her cabin one final time. Seen through the eyes of a theoretical physicist, the story of suspicion, grief, love, and life, bounces back and forth through time slowly revealing the truth about Carmen's tragic last days.
"Supergravity is an extraordinary piece of work," says Director James Peter Sotis. "While the play does use deep science as a filter, at its heart it is a story about a group of friends dealing with loss. The memory of Carmen and her tragic end haunts the group, and the remaining friends need to bend the laws of physics to work through their suspicions, grief, anger, and sadness. When they slowly bring the truth of her death to light, they all have to reconcile what actually happened that last night against their own versions of reality - whether or not it shatters their own private universe."
Tickets are $18 for students/seniors and $22 for general admission, available through BrownPaperTickets.com (http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/389648). The play runs about 2 hours.

http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/389648 or at the door Heather Houston moved to Boston in 2008 with an MA in English under her belt and no job to show for it. Luckily, after years of traveling the globe as a Military BRAT, she knew how to adapt to her surroundings. And after a long road of temping, finally got hired by Harvard... and then promptly laid off. At which point, Heather decided to direct her energies entirely to playwrighting (for a time... because let's face it, you can't live off playwrighting).
