The New England Center for the Performing Arts Hosts Special Performance Of HUMBUG! 12/18

The New England Center for the Performing Arts, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Franklin Massachusetts, presents an exciting opportunity for community organizations in the region. On Friday December 18th, 2009 at 7:30 pm, at Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, The Center will host a special performance of Humbug! for youth groups and individuals with special needs. Executive Director Raye Lynn Mercer says "We are thrilled to be able to share this outstanding holiday production with audiences that may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend."

The New England Center for the Performing Arts will distribute complimentary tickets for the December 18th production through community organizations including the Hockomock YMCA, Boys and Girls Club of Blackstone Valley, Boys and Girls Club of Woonsocket, YMCA and YWCA of Central Ma., Girls Inc. of Worcester, the Friends in Me Theater Program at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, and local chapters of the Best Buddies Youth Organization. Founded by Raye Lynn Mercer and bringing together twenty-five successful years of the Franklin School for the Performing Arts and the Franklin Performing Arts Company, the New England Center for the Performing Arts is a not-for-profit, charitable institution offering extracurricular performing arts education and training for students of all ages and abilities, as well as performing arts production and presentation programming, in the Metrowest region of Massachusetts. The Center will be housed in a new accessible state-of-the-art performing arts complex, located on route 140 in Franklin Ma., which will increase the organization's capacity to serve diverse needs and respond to the growing national demand for quality arts education. Presented by the Franklin Performing Arts Company, Humbug! is a witty, original adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol. Scrooge faces his night time visitors with music from every genre accompanied by a band of Boston's best musicians.

Tickets may be purchased by the public for regularly scheduled performances on December 19th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm, and December 20th at 2:00pm, by calling the box office at 508-528-8668.
