The Hanover Theatre Announces 10th Anniversary Broadway Series

The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts announces its highly anticipated 10th Anniversary Broadway Series. Get lost in the magic of adventure, award-wining hits and toe-tapping fun. A spectacular journey in 2018-2019.

Follow the yellow brick road to the beloved family favorite, The Wizard of Oz, November 8-11. Pass through the candy cane forest and a sea of swirly, twirly gum drops when ELF The Musical returns to Worcester November 29-December 2. Fly to the second star to the right with Finding Neverland, January 2-6. Visit a world of myths and legends January 31-February 3 in the Massachusetts premiere of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, based on Rick Riordan's best-selling novel. On Your Feet! invites audiences to feel the rhythm of the music and conga March 27-31. Tap Dogs turns the dance world upside-down for an ultimate night out April 11-14. And Waitress closes the season with a "little slice of heaven" (Entertainment Weekly) May 22-26.

The Wizard of Oz
November 8-11, 2018
This beloved tale, in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home, has been entertaining audiences for generations. The Wizard of Oz will have the entire family captivated as they travel down the yellow brick road for an unforgettable day at the theatre. The national tour is a new, refreshed and lavish rendition of the beloved classic, faithfully recreating the dialogue and structure of the MGM film nearly scene for scene. Audiences young and old, seeing it for the first time or the fifth, will be dazzled by the brightly colored sets, charmed by its timeless score and enthralled with its breathtaking special effects.

ELF The Musical
November 29-December 2, 2018
Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema hit, Elf The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity and help New York remember the meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner Elf.

Finding Neverland
January 2-6, 2019
Directed by visionary Tony-winner Diane Paulus and based on the critically-acclaimed Academy Award winning film, Finding Neverland tells the incredible story behind one of the world's most beloved characters: Peter Pan. Playwright J.M. Barrie struggles to find inspiration until he meets four Young Brothers and their beautiful widowed mother. Spellbound by the boys' enchanting make-believe adventures, he sets out to write a play that will astound London theatergoers. With a little bit of pixie dust and a lot of faith, Barrie takes this monumental leap, leaving his old world behind for Neverland, where nothing is impossible and the wonder of childhood lasts forever.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical
January 31-February 3, 2019
A "winning adaptation" (The Hollywood Reporter) of the best-selling Disney-Hyperion novel by Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is "electrifying!" (Newsday). The Greek gods are real, and they're ruining Percy Jackson's life. As a son of Poseidon, Percy has newly discovered powers he can't control, has monsters on his trail and is on an epic quest to find Zeus's lightning bolt to prevent a war between the gods. The Lightning Thief features a book by Joe Tracz, music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki, and is directed by Stephen Brackett. On Your Feet!

Tap Dogs April 11-14, 2019
