Patti Colombo Receives Elliot Norton Award

In a ceremony held at Harvard's Sanders Theatre on May 12th, Patti Colombo received the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Choreography for North Shore Music Theatre's (NSMT) acclaimed 2007 production of SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS. The Elliot Norton Awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding achievement in the Greater Boston theater community and are presented by the Boston Theater Critics Association.

More than 400 members of the Greater Boston theater community gathered for the 26th annual ceremony, honoring the distinguished drama critic who died in 2003.  Awards are given in a variety of categories, including acting, directing, and scenic design. NSMT has previously won Elliot Norton Awards for Outstanding Musical Production, having received the award for Hair in 1999, Honk! in 2000, and Pacific Overtures in 2003.

In addition to the Elliot Norton Award, NSMT was also the recipient of 3 Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards last month for SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS including awards for Best Musical Production, Best Director for Scott Schwartz and the Best Choreographer for Patti Colombo.
