North Shore Music Theater Presents 'Frog and Toad'

By:

North Shore Music Theater's (NSMT) award-winning Youth Performance Academy will take audiences on an adventure that lasts a whole year with the lovable Frog and Toad in A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD.  Performances of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD will be on the NSMT main stage on April 12th at 10am and 1pm.

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD is based on the award-winning books by Arnold Lobel.  Tried and true friends Frog and Toad navigate through an adventure-filled year and are joined by some colorful companions along the way as they ponder being alone, bathing suits and spoiling Christmas. With songs like "Seeds", "Alone" and "Merry Almost Christmas," audiences will witness an unlikely friendship blossom and grow.

"A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD draws from author Arnold Lobel's Frog and Toad book series and takes pieces from each book to create this wonderful journey that Frog and Toad go on, including Frog and Toad sledding together, flying a kite, and telling each other scary stories," explains Toby Schine, A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD director and NSMT Assistant Director of Education.  "The show sparks the interest of younger children but it also draws in adults as well.  It's a musical for the whole family to enjoy together."

The cast of A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD features 18 youth performers from 15 local communities.  They include: Andover resident Katie LeMark; Beverly resident Andy Porterfield; Burlington resident Futaba Shioda; Danvers resident Jake Pension; Dracut resident Brian Dillon; Gloucester resident Tasia Kendall; Lynn resident Alex Newell; Lynnfield resident Mary Janus; Marblehead resident Joanna Rosen; Methuen resident Alexandra Berube; Middleton residents Evelyn Lebel, Nicole Soriano, and Alex Staub; North Andover resident Kyle McAdam; Rowley resident Brendan Leonard; South Hamilton resident Ashley Ryan; and Wenham residents Claudia and Jake Namaroff.

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD will be performed on the NSMT main stage on Saturday, April 12th at 10am and 1pm.  Tickets for both shows are $15 and $10 and can be purchased by calling the NSMT Box Office at (978) 232-7200, by visiting the website at www.nsmt.org or in person at 62 Dunham Road (Route 128, exit 19), Beverly, MA. The Youth Performance Academy is supported in part by a generous grant from the Bank of America Foundation.
