New Repertory Theatre to Present ALBATROSS, 5/21-24
New Repertory Theatre announces a special limited engagement of ALBATROSS, May 21-24, 2015 in the Charles Mosesian Theater at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA. Tickets are $40 general admission, $35 for New Rep subscribers, and may be purchased by calling the New Rep Box Office at 617-923-8487 or visiting newrep.org.
The press opening will be Friday, May 22 at 8:00pm.
"We are delighted to bring longstanding members of the New Rep family of artists together again for an encore run of their acclaimed collaboration, ALBATROSS," says Artistic Director, Jim Petosa. "We are happy to support the collaboration of Matthew Spangler, Benjamin Evett, Rick Lombardo and their production team while giving New Rep audiences the opportunity to experience their tremendous accomplishment as they continue its creative evolution."
"We are pleased to welcome back former Artistic Director Rick Lombardo to New Rep for this special presentation of ALBATROSS," says Managing Director, Harriet Sheets. "His astute direction has brought to life this magnificent adaption of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's classic epic poem, featuring an enthralling solo performance from New Rep favorite Benjamin Evett."
A bold new adaptation of one of the greatest poems ever written, ALBATROSS brings you face to face with the Ancient Mariner, doomed for eternity to retell his harrowing story of an old ship, a voyage to the bottom of the world, and a mystical seabird. It's a rollicking sea yarn, a fascinating character study, a celebration of storytelling, and a spiritual odyssey into the interconnectedness of all living things.
