Natalie MacMaster Presents Christmas in Cape Breton at The Colonial

Berkshire Theatre Group is set to announce that renowned fiddler and Celtic musician, Natalie MacMaster will present Christmas in Cape Breton as a special holiday event sponsored by Nelson E. Furlano, CPA at The Colonial Theatre on Wednesday, November 30 at 7:30pm.

Tickets to Natalie MacMaster: Christmas in Cape Breton are $20-$55 and VIP tickets are $60. Natalie MacMaster's master fiddling has resonated with world audiences through 10 albums, multiple gold sales figures and a 27 year career. She has received numerous Juno and East Coast Music Awards; two honorary degrees (from Niagara University, NY, and Trent University) and an honorary doctorate (St. Thomas University); the Order Of Canada-and a reputation as one of Canada's most captivating performers.

Born June 13, 1972 in Troy, Inverness County, Nova Scotia, Natalie MacMaster's impressive musical lineage includes amazing fiddlers, including her uncle, fiddle prodigy Buddy MacMaster (with whom Natalie recorded the 2005 gem Traditional Music From Cape Breton Island); her cousin Andrea Beaton and the late, great Canadian folk icon John Allan Cameron.

However, MacMaster determined to create her own sound, debuted her fiddling prowess at the age of nine-and-a-half years at concert in Glendale, Cape Breton. She delivered her first album, Four On The Floor, at the age of 16. This strength and confidence has only grown through the years, whether it's through an album such as Fit As A Fiddle, that marks her fueling her familial tradition, or through the exploration of Texas and bluegrass swing, Gaelic singing on No Boundaries, a touch of folk rock and new age on In My Hands, a contrasting embrace of the modern and old roots on Live, or her self-published book Cape Breton Aire.

Natalie MacMaster has performed on stage with The Chieftains, Paul Simon, Faith Hill, Luciano Pavarotti and in front of millions on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, the ABC 2002 New Year's Eve Special and Good Morning America. She has thrilled audiences throughout Europe and North America, especially in her native Canada. Her strength and confidence in performing the fiddle continues to drive her passion and hunger to explore her love of music even further-and satisfy her audiences, and herself, in the process.
