ImprovBoston goes global with a one-night-only competitive improv show World Domination: An International Comedy Showcase featuring Die Improleten, ImprovBoston's Face Off & ComedySportz on April 14th at 10PM.

World Domination is an improvised comedy tournament bringing together three veteran improv teams: two from the Boston area and one from Germany. ImprovBoston's Face Off, ComedySportz Boston, and Die Improleten of Freiburg, Germany compete for the audience's applause and adoration in this fast-paced, high-energy 75-minute show.

"Sure, we've got a panel of expert comedy judges and three top-notch improv casts," says ImprovBoston Artistic Director Mike Descoteaux. "But this 'competition' is really about camaraderie. We're jazzed to share laughs with our fellow improvisers from across the river... and across the Atlantic."

Having performed in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, Die Improleten will make its US debut at ImprovBoston. Die Improleten's Petra Birkner says that styles don't differ based on country; they differ based on the improv team. "Some focus on comedy, others on storytelling, and others on music improvisation, for example," she explains. "But whatever a group focuses on, improv always has the power of connecting and uniting."

"Audiences will love World Domination," said Courtney Pong, general manager of ComedySportz Boston. "This night combines all of the audience interaction, fun competition, and fast-paced energy ComedySportz players have at our core while also celebrating improv's unique ability to foster new relationships - not just among the performers, but with the audience, too. A huge note of gratitude to ImprovBoston for continuing to find new ways to bring laughter to the city we call home."
