Cotuit Center For The Arts Hosts Auditions For PORGY & BESS
In recognition of the 75th anniversary of Porgy & Bess, Cotuit Center for the Arts will present five staged concerts featuring many arias and ensemble pieces from the beloved folk opera. There will be a two piano arrangement with Robert Wyatt and Jared McMurray which will punctuate the individual performances. Throughout the evening, Dr. Wyatt will also present information focusing on the historical and cultural significance of the opera. Some of the featured arias include: I Got Plenty, Summertime, It Ain't Necessarily So, and Bess, You Is My Woman.

AUDITION DATES:
Friday, January 15th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm (in Performance Space)
Saturday, January 16th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm (in Art Classroom)
Auditions will be held at Cotuit Center for the Arts,
4404 Falmouth Rd (Rte 28), Cotuit, MA
PERFORMANCE DATES:
Friday, March 5th - 10:00am & 8:00pm
Saturday, March 6th - 4:00pm & 8:00pm
Sunday, March 7th - 2:00pm
Each auditionee is to bring a prepared song along with an additional copy for accompanist. We are auditioning for a diverse cast to fill the roles of Bess, Sportin' Life, and the Chorus.
