The White Heron Theatre, Nantucket's Premier regional theater, is proud to announce the start of its summer season with productions of Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES, and the new musical adaptation of DADDY LONG LEGS.

The season will officially begin Friday July 6th, with the opening of DADDY LONG LEGS, the Drama Desk Award-winning musical adaptation of the 1912 feminist novel of the same name by Jean Webster, with a book John Caird, and music and lyrics by Paul Gordon. The production will star Lindsay Alexandra Carter (White Heron's Romeo and Juliet, Folger Theatre As You Like It) as the clever, resourceful, verbose orphan Jerusha Abbott, sent to college to become a writer by the anonymous donor Jervis Pendleton, played by Brian Krinsky (White Heron's Constellations, Riverside Theater's The Mystery of Edwin Drood). The production is directed by Executive Director Michael Kopko, and features music direction by composer/lyricist Danny K. Bernstein (Far From Canterbury, Wings), stage management by T. Rick Jones, and assistant direction by Grady Gund. The show also features scenic design by Samuel Vawter, costume design by Amanda Carney, and lighting design by Christina Watanabe. The show will run 7/6 - 8/12.

The season will continue with the opening of Noel Coward's classic screwball comedy PRIVATE LIVES. The 1930s farce will feature an incredible cast of seasoned Broadway performers including Jeremy Shamos (Meteor Shower, Clybourne Park) as Elyot, Celia Keenan-Bolger (The Glass Menagerie, Peter and the Starcatcher) as Sibyl, John Ellison Conlee (The Full Monty) as Victor, Nina Hellman (Perciles - Theatre For a New Audience) as Amanda, and Jan Neuberger (Wicked, Big) as Louise. The production is directed by Mark Shanahan (The 39 Steps, Hand To God - The Alley Theatre). The production is stage managed by Hannah Wichmann, and features scenic design by Louisa Thompson, costume design by Amanda Carney, lighting design by Christina Watanabe, and sound design by John Gromada (The Best Man - Drama Desk Award). The show will run 7/20 - 8/17.

The White Heron Theatre, located at 5 North Water St, Nantucket MA, is run by Artistic Director Lynne Bolton, Executive Director Michael Kopko, Production Manager Alex Miller-Long, and Technical Director Sean Stewart.
