Catherine Russell's Upcoming New England Appearances

Catherine Russell will play two local gigs next weekend, September 8 and 9.  First is a two-set evening a Chan's in Woonsocket, RI on September 8 at 8 & 10PM. The second gig is a free public event, Jazz and Blues on The Green, in Plymouth, MA on September 9 at 2:30PM.

"It's a thrill to be back in New England for gigs at Chan's and Pinehills. New England has such a great tradition for Jazz and Blues and the audiences are wonderful. I'm psyched about both gigs, and what an honor to perform for my first time at Chan's, where so many legends have appeared for the past 30 years!" said Russell.

Catherine Russell's father, the late Luis Russell, was Louis Armstong's musical director and Russell's orchestra acted as Armstong's backing group.  Her mother, Carline Ray, is a widely respected bassist and vocalist.
