By:

Cape Rep Theatre continued its 25th Anniversary Season on June 17 with Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. Performances continued for 5 weeks until July 17. Performances take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at 8pm through June 26. Beginning June 29 performances will be Tuesday-Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are currently available as part of a 3 or 4 play subscriptions. Individual tickets are also now on sale. Tickets are $25. Bookings and information are available by calling the box office at 508.896.1888 or visiting our newly launched website at www.caperep.org

Frankie and Johnny focuses on two lonely, middle-aged people whose first date ends with them tumbling into bed. Johnny is certain he has found his soul mate in Frankie. She, on the other hand, is far more cautious and disinclined to jump to conclusions. As the night unfolds, they slowly begin to reveal themselves to each other as they take tentative steps towards the possible start of a new relationship. The original production opened Off-Broadway in 1991 where it ran for 15 months. It was later turned into a film starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer. The first Broadway production opened in 2002 and received a Tony nomination for Best Revival of a Play. Alison Weller and Charles Bennison will play the title roles. Alison Weller appeared on Broadway in Coram Boy and played Eliza Doolittle in last year's production of My Fair Lady. Charles Bennison is a Cape Rep veteran, having appeared in numerous productions. The design team includes set by Ryan McGettigan, lighting by Christopher Ostrom, costumes by Robin McLaughlin, props by Mary Fritz.

This season Cape Rep will offer "Pay-What-You-Can" Performances. Other 25th Anniversary events will be announced as the season continues. Details are available by calling 508.896.1888.
