The historic Cape Playhouse's 90th season kicks off with one of Neil Simon's most irresistible comedies, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, starring Jennifer Cody and Daniel Pearce. Directed by Tim Threlfall, this classic comedy plays June 7 through 18.

Last of the Red Hot Lovers follows the story of Barney Cashman, a seafood restaurateur who is deep in the throes of a midlife crisis. Bored with a humdrum existence, he musters the courage to join the sexual revolution before it's too late, by embarking upon a series of attempts to seduce three eccentric women. America's favorite playwright brings together humanity and hilarity in a fun-filled, bumpy ride of self-discovery as Barney grapples with how to start living a fuller life.

Playhouse favorite Jennifer Cody marks her tenth season at the Playhouse, where she was most recently seen in Women in Jeopardy. She will also be remembered for her performances in The Odd Couple, Hello Dolly!, Unnecessary Farce, Boeing Boeing, Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo; her Broadway credits include A Christmas Story, Shrek, The Pajama Game, Taboo, Urinetown, Seussical the Musical, Beauty and the Beast, Grease, and Cats. Ms. Cody created the voice of Charlotte La Boeuff in Disney's The Princess and the Frog and is the voice of Darcy in Nickelodeon's "Winx Club" and Lucy in "Robot and Monster."

Daniel Pearce makes his Playhouse debut in Lovers. He has been seen on Broadway in Machinal (Roundabout Theatre), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Circle in the Square) and Off-Broadway in numerous productions, including The Most Deserving (Women's Project Theater), Passion Play (Epic), Ping Pong, Macbeth, King Lear, Measure for Measure, Henry V, Henry VI (NYSF/Public), and Falling (Minetta Lane). His regional credits include roles at the Denver Center, La Jolla Playhouse, Actor's Theater of Louisville, Shakespeare Theater DC, Long Wharf, McCarter, Chautauqua Theatre Company, and the Guthrie. His film/TV credits include Murder of a President, Salt, An Invisible Sign, Clowns, Godzilla, "Law and Order," "Law and Order: SVU," "Law and Order: Criminal Intent," "Queens Supreme," and "Chapelle's Show."

Last of the Red Hot Lovers is directed by Tim Threlfall, who recently helmed the American premiere of Frank Wildhorn's new musical The Count of Monte Cristo, as well as made the television film musical "Berlin," recipient of an Emmy and Telly Award. The design team includes Michael Anania (scenic design), Gail Baldoni (costume design), and Matthew Breton (lighting design).
