Business of Acting Workshops Begin in Fairfield, CT, 6/26

By:

Beginning June 26th, a series of workshops on finding work as an actor will be held in Fairfield, CT.

"Do you or someone you know want to be an actor? Do you want to be a working actor, have a career and succeed in the business of show business? If you answered 'yes,' then the workshops being led by agent/writer/teacher Rozanne Gates and headshot photographer Suzanne Sheridan at the Fairfield Theatre Company starting June 26 are designed just for you," state press notes.

"Success in any field comes as a result of active participation on a daily basis. The actor is in fact a self-employed salesperson and must be a savvy salesperson in addition to being a dedicated artist. By day, the actor must sell him or herself to agents, casting directors and anyone else who deals with the business side of acting. By night, the actor must sell his craft to an audience. It is as essential for the actor to understand and be comfortable with the business, as it is to understand the craft of acting."

"The Business of Acting" workshops will begin on Monday June 26, 2006 at the Fairfield Theatre Company, 70 Sanford Street, in Fairfield. The three-part series consists of "The Business of Acting: 101 to Graduation," "Audition Workshop," and "Headshot Workshop + In-Studio Photo Session." A New York Casting Director will be invited to watch the final auditions for the Audition Workshop on Aug. 5. "The Business of Acting: 101 to Graduation" and the "Headshot Workshop and In-Studio Photo Shoot" will "guarantee that the participants are professionally and artistically prepared to audition at a level concurrent with New York standards."
