Box Office Opens for Franklin Performing Arts Center Holiday Shows

By:

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) box office is now open for The Nutcracker and Humbug! offering two great opportunities to get into the holiday spirit this season. The Nutcracker will be presented for two shows only on Saturday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. Humbug! will be staged the following weekend for three shows on Saturday, December 19 at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. Both productions will be presented at Franklin's Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium.

FPAC's production of The Nutcracker includes live professional orchestra, guest artists dancing the roles of "Sugar Plum Fairy" and "The Cavalier," and more than 125 area dancers. This year's presentation features new staging, choreography, and casting for this popular annual production.

FPAC is proud to reprise the company's original adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol with its holiday production of HUMBUG! A ten piece professional band accompanies the familiar cast of characters for an unpredictable retelling of the well-known story. More than 200 talented singers and dancers will inspire audiences in this guaranteed -to-end happily musical.

"I am thrilled with the changes in our Nutcracker production infusing a fresh new energy into our annual favorite," comments FPAC Director Raye Lynn Mercer, "and the premiere of Humbug was met with rave reviews last year. We are very excited to bring it back. Both shows are enjoying a lot of "buzz" as tickets go on sale in advance of the holiday season."

Tickets for The Nutcracker and Humbug! are available by calling the FPAC Box Office at 508-528-2887 or in person at The Spotlight Shop at 34 Main Street in Franklin. Reserved seating for both productions is offered at $24 and $26. Advance purchase is recommended, particularly for the matinee performances. Group sales are available.
