Barrington Stage Company Announces Their Complete Stage 2 Season

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Richard M. Parison, Jr., Producing Director, announces two more productions to complete the season on Stage 2-Freud's Last Session and The Memory Show-as well as two limited engagements of Bill Nelson's All-Male Revue. Tony Award-winner Tyne Daly will make her Barrington Stage debut with her acclaimed cabaret performance Songs featuring John McDaniel on the piano on the Mainstage in September. Single tickets for all performances in the 2010 season go on sale Monday, March 1.

Playing to sold-out houses and seen by more than 5,000 patrons in 2009, Mark St. Germain's Freud's Last Session returns to Barrington Stage's Stage 2 from June 22 - July 3 prior to an Off-Broadway run at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre at 5 West 63rd Street, NYC. Two of history's greatest minds-Dr. Sigmund Freud (Martin Rayner) and C.S. Lewis (Mark H. Dold)-meet for a lively discussion of life, sex and religion. Tyler Marchant will once again direct. Performances of Freud's Last Session are Tues.-Fri. and Sun. at 7:30 p.m., Sat. at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Additional performance on Thurs., July 1 at 4 p.m. All performances will be held at BSC's Stage 2, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield. Tickets are $15-$45.

Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Lab, under the mentorship of Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist William Finn, continues its fifth season with the world premiere of The Memory Show by Zachary Redler and Sara Cooper. The Memory Show (under the title Memory is the Mother of All Wisdom) received a staged reading during the 2009 season and will receive a full production this season at BSC's Stage 2. Directed by Joe Calarco (BSC's The Burnt Part Boys and The Mysteries of Harris Burdick), The Memory Show is a two-person comic tragedy about the troubled relationship of a woman who has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and her estranged daughter who moves back home to Brooklyn's Brighton Beach to take care of her. As the mother starts forgetting the present, her daughter begins remembering the past. The Memory Show runs on Stage 2 from August 18-29 with performances Tues.-Fri. and Sun. at 7:30 p.m.; Sat. at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $15-$45. Press opening is Sunday, August 22 at 7:30pm.

Bill Nelson's popular All-Male Revue made its debut during the 2009 summer season and will return for two limited engagements in 2010. Nelson's lyrics are equal parts jaw-dropping, profound and daffy. Bill and the guys bring their fun evening of fresh, inventive theatre songs to BSC's Stage 2 August 26-28. Offering a unique late night cabaret for Berkshire audiences, Bill Nelson's All-Male Revue will follow The Memory Show with performances on Thurs., August 26 and Fri., August 27 at 9:30 p.m. and Sat., August 28 at 10 p.m. Bill Nelson's All-Male Revue returns on Columbus Day Weekend as part of the second annual Out in the Berkshires weekend with performances October 8, 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. on BSC's Stage 2. All tickets are $15.

Tony Award-winning star Tyne Daly brings her knockout cabaret act Songs featuring John McDaniel to Barrington Stage for one night only-Thursday, September 2 at 8pm. Daly promises a sensational evening of heartfelt and humorous songs and stories, featuring John McDaniel on piano. Tyne Daly's new cabaret act was hailed as "whip-smart" and "sophisticated" by The New York Times. Tickets: VIP $75 (includes reception with the artist and premium seating); $48 (Sections A & B); $35 (Section C). BSC Mainstage, 30 Union Street, Downtown Pittsfield.
Freud's Last Session, The Memory Show and Bill Nelson's All-Male Revue will join the already announced Stage 2 shows: The Whipping Man by Matthew Lopez, playing May 26 - June 13, and Pool Boy by Janet Allard and Nikos Tsakalakos, playing July13 - August 8.

Subscriptions for the 2010 season are on sale now for discounted prices and all handling fees waived through February 28. A FlexPass includes the Mainstage productions of Sweeney Todd (June 17 - July 17), Yasmina Reza's Art (July 22 - Aug. 7) and Alan Ayckbourn's Absurd Person Singular (Aug. 12-29). A Stage 2 Pass (good for three of the four Stage 2 shows) can be purchased for $60. Single tickets for all performances in the 2010 season go on sale Monday, March 1.
