2nd Story's 1st Summer Production Will Be 'Born Yesterday'

By:

In Born Yesterday, Chorus girl Billie Dawn was originally played by Judy Holliday.  Holliday later won an Oscar for the film version... in one of the bigges upsets in Academy history. (She beat Gloria Swanson for Sunset Boulevard and Bette Davis for All About Eve).  Madeline Kahn played the role in the 1989 Broadway revival.

Born Yesterday is an updated telling of Pygmalion.  The screwball comedy follows Harry Brock, a shady Washington lawyer, who hires a tutor for his unrefined girlfriend in hopes that she might help him influence a few politicians.

2nd Story Theatre's production begins July 6th and runs through July 28th.  Tickets can be purchased through the 2nd Story Theatre Box Office at 401-247-4200 or visit www.2ndstorytheatre.com for more information.
