A revue of the close-harmony "guy groups" popular during the 1950s, the Plaids are four high-school buddies, who dream of recording a hit album. Their dream ends in tragedy as they crash into a bus of Catholic schoolgirls traveling to see the Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show. The Plaids return from heaven for one last chance at musical immortality.
