OTHER DESERT CITIES to Open at Company of Fools, 7/2

By: Apr. 17, 2013

Company of Fools has secured the rights to some of the most electrifying theatre today including Doubt, The 39 Steps and God of Carnage. Well - they've just added another! Company of Fools has announced that it has received the rights to Jon Robin Baitz's award-winning play Other Desert Cities, which will run from July 2-27 at the Liberty Theatre.

Brooke Wyeth returns home to Palm Springs after a six year absence to celebrate Christmas with her parents, her brother, and her aunt. Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family's history - a wound they don't want reopened. In effect, she draws a line in the sand and dares them all to cross it.

The cast under the direction of Company of Fools' founder - RusTy Wilson - stars three of the Valley's favorite actors - Keith Moore, Denise Simone and Patsy Wygle as well as NY-based actor Hanna Cheek. HeLen Shaw of Time Out New York had this to say of Ms. Cheek, "Hanna Cheek is an actor of rare gifts, and someday Hollywood will steal her, so you have to snatch at every chance to see her onstage."

Tickets will go on sale starting May 15, 2013.

Company of Fools is a professional theatre company driven by the power of the theatrical experience to connect artist and audience. Company of Fools offers world-class theatre and educational programs that engage, inspire, entertain and transform.
