Boise Contemporary Theater has announced its new season, and with it four groundbreaking Mainstage shows and season packages sure to delight new and seasoned audiences alike.

BCT is breaking new ground by opening its 21st Season with its first ever musical; redeveloping the most popular show in the theater's history-a show appropriate for adults and children; bringing in a music-infused one-man hit show from Chicago featuring a rising Latino talent; and staging one of the largest ensemble comedies ever to be produced at BCT.

Founding Artistic Director Matthew Cameron Clark is enthusiastic this will be BCT's best season yet. "We are leaping forward this season at BCT. Forward into new territory, including our first musical-some would say the rock musical-Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Forward into the next phase of our commitment to play development as we bring back A Nighttime Survival Guide, the most popular show in BCT history, for a brand new production. Forward into the full-force showmanship of the multi-talented actor, rapper, dancer, musician, and writer, Brian Quijada (from last seasons No More Sad Things) and his fresh-from-Chicago-sold-out-show Where Did We Sit on the Bus? Forward into the brilliant writing of Sarah Ruhl, one of the most imaginative playwrights working today, as we stage her play The Clean House; it was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and asks questions about love, comedy, fidelity, mortality, and cleanliness."

Season Sponsors returning to support this exciting new season at BCT are Hotel 43, The Shubert Foundation, and Thornton Oliver Keller. The new BCT 16|17 media sponsor is the Idaho Statesman. Susan May and Andy Owczarek, who generously helped support the inaugural BCT River Prize last season, have provided another generous leadership gift to the future of the BCT River Prize.

Along with this fresh new season come new season ticket packages. BCT is now selling new season ticket packages at early-bird prices, and has introduced its most groundbreaking package to date. The BCT Buddy System offers 16|17 Season Premium, Standard and Student subscribers a totally free identical Buddy package to give to someone who has not yet been a BCT subscriber. The free Buddy packages allow BCT to give back to its dedicated and growing subscriber base, and help the theater build the future of the BCT audience.

BCT is also introducing its first-ever Pay-What-You-Want general admission price on the first Wednesday Preview of each run. The new Preview package is good for Thursday previews only. The first Fridays are now Opening Nights. The Standard package entitles patrons to any Wednesday or Thursday evening or Saturday matinee performance. The new Premium package is good for any performance. Student packages are also good for any performance. The BCT Box Seats have been generously and stylishly refurnished by Furniture Outfitters. Box Seat packages are currently available at early-bird rates for groups of five or six, and include two bottles of wine and a delicious dessert platter from partner Asiago's. All packages entitle patrons to attend all four Mainstage shows of the 16|17 Season.

More information on BCT 16|17 Season Tickets and the BCT Buddy System can be found on BCT's newly refreshed website, BCTheater.org. Kristy Weyhrich of M Design did the web redesign with backend support by Michael Richardson of Hand Eye Design, both local shops. The BCT logo also has a refresh.

Early-bird season ticket prices are available through August 15th, at which time single tickets to all BCT 16|17 shows go on sale. Subscribers who become BCT Members at the $50 level or above for the 16|17 Season are eligible for early-bird Member-Subscriber priority seating through June 30. Non-member Subscribers and Members at a level below $50 begin getting seated starting July 1, 2016 in the order their packages are processed.

BCT is located at 854 Fulton Street in the heart of Boise's Cultural District. Patrons may purchase their season tickets and memberships at the theater Monday - Friday, 10 am - 2 pm. They can also make purchasing during those business hours by calling the BCT Box Office at 208 331-9224, or by visiting the new BCT website at BCTheater.org.
