It would be nice if the reviewer could have gotten the director information correct for the show being reviewed. Walter Bobbie directs Irving Berlin's White Christmas. It would also be nice if the reviewer didn't feel quite so guilty about enjoying this show. You enjoyed it? GREAT, now stop making excuses as to why you think you shouldn't have.

tried to reply to your PM to say "you're welcome" but you don't accept PM's!

The thing is, I think the reviewer really did like the show! I don't get why he is trying to make up excuses why it shouldn't be enjoyable when all he as to say is..."I liked it!".

Thanks!

Thanks for responding again. The correction has been sent to my editor. I saw the show last week, and liked it more than Richard, although the book needed some work. The performances were great, and my interview with Stephen Bogardus hopefully will be posted in the near future. It's a nice holiday show with, of course, great music by Irving Berlin, so what's there not to like? I can't tell you why Richard wrote what he did, but this man who put Kander and Ebb together and was their agent and also the agent to Chita Rivera and Linda Lavin, and others, had his reasons. Was it the greatest musical of the year? No. It was a pleasant holiday show, and the audience was singing along and appeared to have a good time. I hope they bring it back every year during holiday time. By the way, Richard writes a column called "NY Theatre Buzz" for DC Theatre Scene and is not a reviewer. Just fixed my PM thing.
