HERO....the rock opera

can anyone tell me if this ever played on broadway, off broadway, or if it ever played...i just got the cd 5 minuets ago from a family member, have no idea what its about, and havn't listened to the music yet...anyone have any info?

Hero - michael tait
Petrov - Mark Stuart
and Maggie - Rebecca St. James

That was just a concept album. It never reached fruition. I found out about it a few months ago.

Didn't it tour for a while? I know some of the tour got canceled (including Schenectady, where I was really hoping to see it...), but maybe all of it did.

Anyways, it's a modern re-telling of the Gospel story. For example, it takes place in Bethlehem, PA. I enjoy the music - some of it is on the edgier side, though. Give it a listen, it's not bad! re: HERO....the rock opera

I saw the DVD and have listened to the recording, and I have to say that while the cast is full of great artists NONE of them could act their way out of a paper bag. And the songs are horrible. I found them all very repetitive.
